Like other blackjack strategies, there’s an art to knowing how to bet properly. In this video, a gambling expert explains how to do just that. Follow his advice and watch your chips pile up.

Hey guys. I just wanted to go over blackjack betting. A lot of times you have a lot of people who they have their methods or systems or whatever they want to call it on how to bet. There are a couple of right ways to do it. There are a couple of wrong ways to do it. I am going into a few of the methods and you can use whatever is comfortable for you.

First up, you have a lot of people who do what is called flat betting. They’re in for $100 and thinking it doesn’t matter what happens, win or lose they are betting $100 every time, like $100, $100, $100. A lot of times what you get also are people who they use a system, a really popular one, called the Martingale System where basically you bet $100 and then say you lose the bet and then you follow that up with a bet of $200. Then if you lose that bet then you follow that up with a bet of $400. That requires you to have a whole lot of money, one, and then two if you end up with a whole string of loses then you are wiped out. I wouldn’t recommend that.

Instead, I would recommend two ways. The simple way would be to use a high/low betting system. Say if you are betting $100, you win your hand then the next bet you go to $200. $100 is your low. $200 is your high, as you keep winning $200, once you lose a hand you go back down to $100. That way you’re trying to maximize the amount of money that you actually have out there while you are winning and minimizing money while you are losing. I just use the $100, $200 as an example.

For lower limits if you are betting $10, you could make that spread as wide as you like. Whatever is going to make you feel comfortable. If you want to bet $10 and say you win, then you go to $50. Then you keep playing $50 until you lose then you go back to $10. That’s entirely up to you if you want to try it that way.

The way I personally play, I do progressive betting. What that does basically is it maximizes on streaks that tend to happen in the game. If things are going really well then I just keep betting and betting and betting. One of the things with that, say if I’m betting $50 a hand, if I win two bets in a row, then I start going up. I go to $75. Then I’ll go to $100. Then I’ll go to $150. Then I go to $200. Then I go to $300. The whole methodology behind this is that even if I could win all of these hands in a row. I bet $400. If I were to lose, then I lose the $400 right here, but then this is all profit. Then I would start back at $50 and then kind of work my way back up again. I find that to be a very powerful system that works very well.

As far as your limits, a lot of times people are comfortable at a lot of lower limit players will stop at $50. $50 is considered a big hand. So, what a lot of times what people will do, people get up to $50 and start flat betting at $50. If that’s what you are comfortable with then that’s fine. Once you’re done, once you lose, then you drop down.

Personally, I just keep going until I am into betting thousands, $2000, $3000. That’s all personal preference there. That’s how you bet in blackjack.

  2. this is one of the best methods of betting. in a winning streak leave the original bet. with the winnings divide it in two. place a few on top of the previous bet and keep the rest. each time you win you increase you bet from the winnings. when you loose you go back to your minimum and flat bet till you win then placing your winnings to increase. always mind-full to take profit from each win when possible. is it an absolute winner all the time? NO . but it's the best one I've seen.

  6. Hey Man
I have been using a similar betting strategy as yours. My question is when you are on your running and increasing your bet and you PUSH what do you do? Do you keep the same amount out there or go back to your minimum bet?

  14. I am a winning blackjack player and agree with his betting strategies. Winning and losing comes in streaks. Increasing your bet progressively when you are winning works well for me (over many years, multi-deck). Yes the house has a 1/2% edge but it also has a significant disadvantage. They can only win my limited stake when I lose, but when I am on a winning streak I can just keep winning from them. The key to winning at blackjack is learn the proper basic strategy and stick with it rigidly. How do casino's make big money if it is so easy to beat them? Because nine out of ten players do not adequately learn basic strategy and, of the remainder that do, very few do not change some of the plays to their own preferences because they "know better". Learn basic strategy, rigidly stick to it, use some king of progressive betting strategy as described here, and NEVER drink while playing.

  17. Say I have $200 dollars and I'm at a 10-15 dollar table I'll play with $20 but once I'm at $10-$199 I'll play with $10-$15. Basically I add or subtract $5 for every $100 I gain or lose

  18. I gamble depending on the table's minimum bets. I normally just go the $5-10 table and it works out pretty well. My strategy is simply I start with $100, I bet 5s until I hit $150, I then increase my minimum bet to $10, until I hit $200 which then I will increase my minimum bet to $15 if however I go from $150 to $100 I will move back to $5 bets and this goes on till I basically hit 5-10x my money or lose my initial $100, I don't go to the casino often, but I have 5x my money 2/3 times. . It's a slow way to win but it minimises risk. Also, card count royals, aces and 10 draws.

  19. Do not do this! These are all bad systems. Bet low on a new deck. Card count. This is very easy. Then when your chances are good towards the middle or end of the deck bet higher. Never spend more than you are willing to lose. Do not gamble if it is to pay for your bills. This is a horrible idea and will spiral out of control. Come into the casino with a set amount of money and do not bring your credit card or more cash. Also do not just put in chips. Every time you put in a chip think of the dollar amount they use chips for multiple reasons but one is so you do not feel like you are using real money. Their are a ton of distractions in casinos! Bring a watch to keep track of time. When offered a free drink be aware it is to get you to spend more! Do not over drink. Do not lose your attention and keep you attention on the game. When gambling do it for fun most of all! You will lose more money than you make when playing often. Sometimes you may make more this is highly unlikely so do not feel you are the exception. Also if you are on a winning streak do not expect to keep winning this is a common psychological thought process. If you lose do not double! If you win do not put in what you just won! The objective is to come out with more than you came in with. Also the casino gives you free food cards and free drinks or whatever. This is because they will be making a lot off of you and they will reward you for losing even if you are "winning" so you feel the need to come back and it feels like you still came out with something. They are a scam. It is about a good night so again do not spend what you are not willing to lose!!
